- Your role title/trade within the Building industry:
Colour & design consultant.

- What is involved in training for your role?
I had previous training in colours through my university studies, as well as my previous role with a builder. I also dedicate time to learning in house data base systems and I measure up plans.

- How/why did you get into your chosen trade?
I am a creative person who loves working with colours and I really enjoy the creative aspect of my job, such as helping clients with colour selections. It is a fantastic feeling when you create a fabulous design that enhances the look and feel of somone's home. I have a BA in Arts, Design and Marketing.

- What obstacles have you overcome on your path into and through the building industry?
Learning to liaise with a wide range of people from clients to builders and tradesmen to suppliers and architects.

- Why do you think it is important to help establish a name and better recognised opportunities for females in building?
I think that women have alot to bring to the building industry and I think it is important that they have the opportunities to demonstrate this.

- What are your goals for the future?
To start my own interior design company.

- How do you effectively deal with your workplace culture?
Always support your team members. A workplace where all team members support each other ensures a positive workplace culture.
